Calling all letterboxers, literature lovers, ramblers, Dartmoor enthusiasts, treasure hunters and other, you are invited to take part in Dartmoor Storytrail as part of Wordquest Devon. Using the concepts behind Dartmoor Letterboxing, five boxes are hidden along a circular route starting and finishing in Belstone Village. Each box holds a book containing a story in progress –– after finding a box, participants are asked to add a sentence to the story in the manner of 'chain stories'.
This participatory 'build a story' activity allows chance encounters and collaboration combining a variety of voices in the development of new Dartmoor stories.

a low resolution pdf (115K) is also available here
The boxes will remain in place on Dartmoor to be discovered, added to and replaced in their hiding spots until the closing event on Saturday 24th September which takes the form of an afternoon of participatory wordplay! Between 2pm and 4pm we will be celebrating the unearthing of the chain stories with
an afternoon of word games ranging from WINGO (word bingo) to Pin the Name on the Quote, Scrabble™ and Pictionary™.
The afternoon will also include readings from the Storytrail books. The Belstone Players will also be reciting from much-loved Devon literary works.
Join us at Belstone Village hall to find out what the stories have become.
The event is free -- however, please RSVP so we have the right amount of tea and cakes available! wordquest@auneheadarts.org.uk
