Participants' Information

In association with the Arts at Dartington, we are delighted to offer a unique opportunity to join the legendary Pauline Oliveros, author and dream-teacher Ione, and choreographer Heloise Gold together for the first time in the UK, on the beautiful mediæval estate at Dartington.

Deep Listening Retreats are for ear-minded people. Deep Listening is a form of meditation based on experiencing heightened awareness of sound, silence and sounding.

Retreat activities include seven hours of daily ritual, attention to breath, listening/sounding meditations, T’ai Chi and Chi Kung movement practices, practicing silence, journeying for expanded creative resources, listening through dreams, tracking listening with sound journals, interaction, discoveries, exploration strategies for creating and performing, scoring, writing, drawing, creative movement sessions in the open air, listening for creative opportunities, free time, exchange and lively conversation.

Among those who attend Deep Listening Retreats are musicians and artists interested in expanding their understanding of sound and its effects on the body, meditators interested in enhancing their depth of practice through listening, teachers who want to encourage appreciation for listening in their students, and people interested in creativity, well being, relaxation, excitement and connection with others and the environment.

The retreat begins with lunch on Monday, July 20 and ends around teatime on Friday, July 24.
