Stargazey pie is traditionally eaten and made in the village of Mousehole on Tom Bawcock’s eve; the 23rd December. It follows a tradition that celebrates sharing and real community spirit through the acts of local fisherman Tom Bawcock, and has been honoured at The Ship Inn every year for over a hundred years.
The landlord of The Ship Inn, Colin Perkins invited a group into the pub to meet the staff and discuss the tradition and its story, and then to sample a real pie and listen the lyrics of the dedicated song.
