Aune Head Arts (AHA) is a contemporary arts organisation based on Dartmoor: read more about what we do. [Menus not displaying properly? get flash!]
We believe that everyone is capable of creative expression; that artists can work with a broad spectrum of individuals without compromising artistically or aesthetically; that contemporary artforms can be stimulating, challenging, and engaging for all. Read more about what we say about the arts.
AHA leads on two MAs at the Dartington campus of University College Falmouth: Arts & Ecology (Richard Povall) and Arts Management (Nancy Sinclair)
Download the Arts & Ecology brochure for 09-10, and the brochure for the whole MA programme. See some pics here from a recent module (January 09). If you're interested in applying to the MA for next year, start here. If you'd like to know more, go here (official!) or here (unofficial!). PLEASE NOTE that because of the relocation to Falmouth in summer 2010, we are only able to offer full-time places for 2009-10.
Download the MA Arts Management brochure for 09-10, and the brochure for the whole MA programme. There is an additional article here (from newsletter 29). If you want to ask a question about registration, email Registry, or email Nancy if you have questions about the content of the MA. PLEASE NOTE that because of the relocation to Falmouth in summer 2010, we are only able to offer full-time places for 2009-10.
This is the last opportunity to study for these MAs on the remarkable Dartington Estate.
Drake's Trail, a series of walking and cycling spurs in West Devon, was recently listed in Lonely Planet Magazine as one of ten best national "trips for a memorable Spring". The Guardian (Saturday, May 9) also explained how fantastic the trails are, but noted that "it's the podcasts that bring the area to life." And this is one family's blog from the trailhead...
We were commissioned by West Devon Borough Council to create these 22 podcasts, and worked with artist Martin Prothero and students from Tavistock College.
Laura Smith launched her project at an exhibition at the Basset Institute in Pool (nr Redruth) from March 24-29. Laura has been working with residents in the area and with The Heartlands Project for the past few months.
Over five months Laura collected stories and memories, many of them from ex-miners, and worked with young people at Pool Business and Enterprise College to put the finishing touches to her creative work.
AHA is now listed in The Ashden Directory which is a lively and interesting website centring on Arts & Environment. Although we don't maintain a Links page on this site (for reasons of practicability) we will from time to time mention sites of interest here.
We'd like to say thank you to all our funders. They are acknowledged on the appropriate project pages, and here.
We have been funded for a three-year programme of work by Arts Council England, and we thank them for their continuing support of our work.
