Project completed

EVA-post-transp00

The Eva project is drawing to a close and finding a new life. Even as Eva Radio continues, and the Life Story Boxes begin to be shown, Aune Head Arts is bowing out of the project so that these aspects can find their own way backed by the extraordinary support of the volunteer team who have been involved in the project.

Explore this website for the story behind the project. Listen to the latest episode of Eva …

EVA Commission Artists’ Podcasts Available

EVA Artist Commissions logo

The sound works made by the four artists commissioned for part of the EVA project are available on the AHA website for you to download (free).  Artists Jan Blake, David Kemp, Elsepth Owen and Karen Wallis had never created sound works before EVA and they all worked in very different media, in very different ways from one another.  The podcasts are as diverse as the artists.  Go here for more information about the project and to download the podcasts.

EVA Radio February 7

EVA-post03

Tune in on Thursday to hear a something unusual for any radio programme –– a live evaluation of the programme by an independent consultant.   Rachel Litherland of Innovations in Dementia has been following the development of EVA Radio, as well as the other strands of the EVA project, in order to help AHA evaluate their effectiveness.  The entire EVA Producers Team will be taking part in this evaluation and discussion process with Rachel on Thursday.  Listen in and find out …

Correction re Memory Loss Group

EVA-post-transp00

Apologies all — in the ‘Of Interest’ sent out last week (29 February) the information about two groups supported by The Reader Organisation was muddled.  Many thanks to Maggie McCarney who alerted me to this mistake.  Here is the correct information, dates, times and locations:

Memory Loss and Carers Group.  This newly formed group meets in Ivybridge Library every Wednesday from 10:30am to 12:30pm.  Relax and listen to great stories and poems read aloud to you in a small …

EVA Life Story Boxes Update

The participants have begun the design and build stage of this EVA project in which they’re bringing together selected artifacts and sound recordings in a special container they’ve chosen.  The finished Life Story boxes are being personalized by each maker.  They will have physical and digital elements and may contain objects which have triggered stories which can then be heard, through headphones, at the touch of a button or lift of a flap within the box.  They might include photographs, …

Percussive Feet had great workshop on 2nd December

EVA Commission Artist Jan Blake with two dancers in Bristol on 2nd December, 2012

On Sunday, December 2, EVA Commission Artist Jan Blake used improvised movement for a soundwork created by percussive feet in response to her hanging sculpture, Zig Zag.

Six choreographers/dancers gathered with Jan in The Gallery at The Island in Bristol’s old Bridewell Street Police Station.  After a reflexology warm-up for the feet, Jan got the dancers into improv mode by asking them to ‘dance their names’.  Soon the dancers (most of whom had not worked together before) were creating their own steps …

Percussive Feet Move to Bristol for 2nd Dec

EVA Artist Commissions logo

Dancers / Choreographers / Movement Artists are invited to take part in a one-day opportunity to work in a new way through improvisation and experimentation across disciplines.

Artist Jan Blake is looking for individuals to collaborate in an exciting and innovative project to make a percussive sound response to her sculpture Zig-Zag — to create a fusion of layers of sound made from the rhythmic patterns of your feet on the floor.

Dancers & Movers on hold!

EVA Artist Commissions logo

Artist Jan Blake had invited everyone who was interested to bring their feet along this weekend (20/21 October) for a session or two of improv dance and movement with the fifteen hanging sculptures she has created as part of her commission for the EVA project.

Jan is still incredibly keen on pursuing methods of collaboration with creative minds and feet using her sculpture, Zig Zag, as the starting point for inspiration and experimentation.  However, things change (it’s the arts, after all…) and …
